Welcome to Red Mesa Junior High School
Red Mesa Junior High School is located in Red Mesa, Arizona, which is about 25 miles southwest of the Four Corners. The school is located on the Navajo Reservation and is a public school. We have nearly 100% Navajo students who attend our school from 7 different communities. The majority of the students are coming from low-income families. The students are bussed in everyday from as far as 60 miles away.
We have approximately 126 students, ranging from 6th grade to 8th grade. The Junior High School staff consists of the principal, 5 classified staff, and 8 teachers.
Red Mesa is very remote location in Northeastern Arizona. The majority of the people living in the area are Navajo Indians. There are not many employment opportunities in Red Mesa, Which is a community that consists of a one school (Pre-K through 12th grade), a convenience store, a Navajo Nation Chapter House, and a sublet office of the Navajo Tribal Utility Company. Just recently, and Indian Health Service Clinic was opened here.
Red Mesa Junior High School offered classes such as:
Math Department: 6th Grade Math, 7th Grade Math, and 8th Grade Math.
Science Department: 6th Grade Science, 7th Grade Science, and 8th Grade Science.
Social Studies Department: 6th Grade Social Studies, 7th Grade Social Studies, and 8th Grade Social Studies.
English Department: 6th Grade Language Arts, 7th Grade Language Arts, and 8th Grade Language Arts.
Red Mesa Junior High School also offered Elective classes:
Physical Education and Navajo Language and Culture.
